Me First
Scripture: Romans 12:9-21
Consumer Christianity says, “Me first.” But Romans 12 calls us to a radically different way of life: we should genuinely love others, even when it costs us something.
In the final week of Consumer Christianity, we look at Romans 12:9–21 and discover what genuine love looks like toward our church family, strangers, and even our enemies. Why is this kind of love so risky? How can we forgive people who have hurt us, pursue peace without ignoring evil, and put others first when everything in us wants to protect ourselves?
Ultimately, the answer isn’t trying harder. It’s trusting the God who loved us first. Jesus didn’t love us from a distance; He moved toward us and gave His life for us while we were His enemies. Because we’ve been genuinely loved by Him, His Spirit empowers us to genuinely love others. We hope this message challenges and encourages you to follow Jesus more faithfully.
