We’re so excited for Easter this year! The pandemic has subsided, so we can gather without any restrictions, we’re celebrating our Savior’s resurrection together, AND we’re celebrating our first birthday as a church plant! What could be better?
Because it’s such a big day for us, we’ve decided to make a weekend out of it.
Friday, April 15th: Night of Worship
We’re hosting a Night of Worship Friday, April 15, at 7pm at our meeting location (622 Campbell Ave SW). That night we’ll be singing and praying together.
But we’ll also be hosting an essential item drive of health and toiletry items. We’re partnering with Ducks on a Mission to benefit Christian Soldiers Food Pantry, which will be distributing the items to over 250 families and individuals in need in SE Roanoke in May.
So come to the worship night with essential toiletry items in-hand. Consider putting together one pack for either a man, woman, or child. Here’s a list of items needed from Ducks on a Mission:
For Men:

Saturday, April 16th: Block Party
Saturday morning, from 10am-12pm, we’re hosting a block party for our neighborhood! It’s at West End Park (916 Campbell Ave SW). Parking is on the street around the park.
We’ll have bounce houses for the kids, popcorn, gifts, and games! It’ll be a fun time to get to know new people and show the neighborhood that we love them and are here for them.
We will need volunteers for this, so please sign up after Sunday service in the lobby to man bounce-houses, face paint, hand out popcorn, and more!
Sunday, April 17th: Who’s Your One?
On Sunday morning at our normal time (10am) we’ll celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and our first birthday! Use this as an opportunity to invite the person you’ve been praying for and engaging with the gospel.
Too often, we get overwhelmed by God’s mission and think we have to share the gospel with everyone we meet. And while some people are gifted in that, what if we changed the standard for ourselves? What if we just pursued and loved ONE person? Let’s focus on that! Who’s your one? That’s where multiplication starts.
Use This Moment
Use this moment for the sake of God’s mission in Roanoke! If you were planning to go out of town, please reconsider so you can invest in the mission here. If you have people coming from out of town, make sure to bring them along! And if you’re one of our partners from out of town, consider traveling to Roanoke to celebrate with us!
Easter is a big day. And churches tend to grow on big days. As a church plant, that’s still something we’re working toward. We want to impact Roanoke and the world with the gospel, but we can’t do that unless we can establish ourselves firmly into the future. So use this Easter to help us get there.
We’re ultimately here for God’s mission. We want to make disciples and mobilize leaders to bring people to Jesus. We can do it together with God, because he’ll use us (his church) to invite others into the family! Let’s work like it’s all on us, and pray like it’s all on God! Thanks for partnering in the mission here with us.
