Renewing Women’s Passion for Theology and Bible Study

Renew will be a reoccurring women’s event, catalyzed by our church, for any woman in our city. Our goal at Renew is to teach theology, improve biblical literacy, and renew a passion for studying the Bible. Share this with your friends!

Saturday, August 7th, from 9am-12 we will host our first event! We’ll hear from one of our very own leaders, Taryn Pelletier, of Redemption Church, as well as Donya Grant, of Mercy Hill Church, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Brunch will be provided. There will be no childcare at this event, so please plan accordingly.

Donya Grant

Donya’s topic of discussion will be When God Says No: How scripture reminds us that even when our earnest prayers aren’t answered the way we desire, God can still strengthen our faith, heal our brokenness and deepen our reliance upon Him.

Donya (pronounced don-yay) is a wife, mother and lover of God’s Word. A former special education teacher, she now uses her gifts to support her husband, Eugene, in ministry, and to disciple their 6 year old daughter, Zoie. Together as a family, the Grants serve their local church in High Point, North Carolina. Donya is passionate about living on mission and is continually in awe of how God uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plans. In her free time, you are most likely to find Donya browsing her local Target for something she probably doesn’t need or watching old episodes of The Great British Baking Show!

Taryn Pelletier

Taryn’s topic of discussion will be The Lies We Believe: Guarding our hearts, renewing our minds, and inviting Jesus into the mess.”

Taryn is a native of Roanoke, Virginia, and a member at Redemption Church. She has a degree in biology from High Point University and a Master’s in healthcare administration from Colorado State University. She now works at Virginia Tech as the Health Sciences and Technology Program Manager. You can often find her out on walks around Grandin Village with her dog-child, Piper, or floating the river with her husband, Jason. The desire of Taryn’s heart is to daily ‘taste and see’ that the Lord is good and encourage others to do the same.
