Not because reading our Bible is some religious task that stores up brownie points with God, but because we believe that God actually speaks through the Bible, and when God speaks, new life is created. From the creation narrative of Genesis, all the way to Jesus’ ministry, it is spoken words that lead to renewal and life where there was death. So we go to the Word of God for a word from God.
